Release Services

Immediately upon being admitted to Oakview, plans for reintegration are initiated. A Release Plan will be developed a minimum of 21 days prior to a youth’s release. The purpose of the Release Plan is to develop a plan for successful reintegration into the family and community as law-abiding citizens by coordinating transition services including mental health, education, substance abuse, etc.

In most cases, the committing court resumes responsibility for supervision by utilizing their probation staff. The Ohio Department of Youth Services may also retain supervision for youth who have been stepped out of the institutions by using parole staff from their regional offices.
